Beyond the Plus has a set of broad goals that we aim for that we believe are important to the advancement of our cause. Anyone who joins is helping us achieve these.
Community
People from all walks of life are welcome to join Beyond the Plus, after all, our main goal is to build community. Loneliness is an epidemic that systemically attacks minorities, and community is a way to fight back. We're fighting a battle against a society that needs change, and to fight we need you. Networking is a great way to help this goal; the more people that join, the better. We also think that events are a good way to get people from the community to come together and have fun.
Fighting
Society only changes if you make the effort to do so. It's possible for people who are against our cause to have their minds changed, and that's a great way to turn an enemy into an ally. We believe that by providing resources and showing that we exist with good intention, we can slowly change societal perception of our people.
Online Resources
Beyond the Plus offers this website and its resources as a way to spread our cause. Whether it's our Learning blog or our social media presence, we hope to spread knowledge of our movement across the globe. We also host other resources as well that are easy to share and can make a big difference.
In-Person Resources
But staying online can only go so far, think of how much a single event like stonewall changed history. Our online resources exist partially to advertise our in-person presence, and vice versa. Beyond the Plus runs events that gather community members in the real world, providing them with much needed support and proof that they're not alone in this world.
