Queer communities are deeply divided by our differences, but the need for unity and solidarity has never been more imperative.

The rights and safety of queer beings in the US are, due to the current administration's policy goals, in a steep nosedive. Meanwhile, the economy only continues to worsen, in part also due to said administration, but in real part just as reflection of the economic reality that infinite growth is impossible. And – very understandably – huge numbers of queer beings are increasingly struggling with severe emotional issues of the kind that cause even further difficulties getting by, if not being outright life-threatening.

Make no mistake, our communities are in trouble. This is the time when we need to be organizing to protect ourselves against bigoted policies. This is the time when we need to be there for each other when we're struggling to stay afloat, materially and mentally. This is the time for unity.

When it comes to our very survival, we need to put aside differences of specific details of positions and ideologies, we need to put aside personal dramas and grudges, and we need to come together around our one common goal: to exist. We don't have the luxury of infighting when powerful enemies are actively mobilized against us.

"If you stand with me, I'll stand with you" must become our promise to each other. All of us have our own ideas about how society should be, but in order for those ideas to matter, we have to be here at all – and that is under real threat.

This is the time for unity. This is the time to stand together. This is the time to ensure we all have a tomorrow. If you will stand with me, I will stand with you!
