One of the main things Beyond the Plus stands for is orientation. For decades people with diverse orientation have been stigmatized, and over the past few decades some have gained more representation, but what exactly is it?
Orientation is a representation of someone's attraction, or what draws them to other people. It can be romantic, sexual, platonic, or anything else. Attraction is diverse across billions of people, and for some it looks completely different than for others.
The most typical type of orientation is for two adults of opposite gender to be attracted to each other, but even so, the way someone is attracted and the little details that build up why someone is attracted are many, such as personality or hair color, or whatever else.
But attraction can be very different. Over the past few decades the gay rights movement showed that people who were attracted to the same gender existed and were tired of being oppressed. But there are more factors to attraction than just gender. For instance, most people are attracted to their peers that share their age, but some are attracted to older or younger people. Most people are attracted to other humans, but some are attracted to other species as well.
Attractions such as these are often seen as just sexual, but these types of love can be very diverse. But no matter how the attraction is felt, everyone's unique orientation is valid.
